Who goes first, the wheat or the tares?

Who goes first, the wheat or the tares?

Consider what Yeshua had to say when He explained this parable in…

Matthew 13:

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the END OF THIS WORLD.

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Paul is the one who wrote the most about the Rapture. He said in…

2 Thessalonians 2:

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The latter event happens at the Abomination of Desolation, which nearly everyone agrees is a Mid-Trib event (for those who believe in the 7 year Tribulation). So, right here we see there is no room for any other prior gathering. Paul also said that we will meet Christ in the clouds in 1 Thessalonians 4:

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN (remain after what?) unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN (remain after what?) shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

When will Christ be in the clouds?

Matthew 24:

29 Immediately AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man COMING IN THE CLOUDS of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall GATHER TOGETHER his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

No other Pre-Trib “gathering” is mentioned anywhere in the Bible, nor is there any other mention of Christ ever being in the clouds at anytime prior to “immediately AFTER the Tribulation.” Thus, the only “gathering” that is mentioned is in the end, as also stated earlier in the parable of the wheat and tears in…

Matthew 13:

28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

I don’t know about you, but I’m listening, and from what I am hearing from the Scriptures, is that it is the tares that go first, not the wheat.

In the meantime, what are the wheat to do prior to the harvest?

Revelation 14:

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Just some food for thought…
