It’s so simple a child could get it…

Mark 12… 28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Most people seem to at least understand what loving our neighbor means. But what does it mean to love God?
Exodus 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Deuteronomy 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Daniel 9:4 And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Yeshua said that He and His Father are one (John 10:30), so we can’t begin to think that He came up with different rules and meanings that are contrary to or apart from His Father’s. Therefore…
Joshua 22:5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
So, boys and girls… what is the love of God and what does it mean to love Him? Well, in case it wasn’t blatantly obvious in the Scriptures above, here the definition is given to us point-blank:
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
It is so simple a child could understand it. It only takes a seminary trained “theologian” or self-professed “Bible scholar” to screw it up.
