It Doesn’t Get Any Clearer Than This…

Published by Rob Skiba March 4, 2015 at 9:49 PM

From Genesis to Revelation, “sin” is clearly understood to be transgression of YHWH’s Laws. And in case that is not clear to you, it is spelled out for us in 5th Grade reading level English by the beloved Disciple, John…

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

I mean, you would REALLY have to work  extremely hard to “interpret” that any other way than the blatantly obvious. And if all the KJV “eths” are tripping you up, here it is in common English…

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

OK. With the TRUE definition of sin now well established, the following sums up the entire issue of what we should and should not do concerning the Law…

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not transgress the Law (sin). And if anyone does transgress the Law (sins), we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our transgressions of the Law (sins), and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Praise YHWH! Those 2 verses alone sum up the entire “issue” in about the simplest of terms as any man could write. Don’t transgress the Law (sin). If you do, don’t worry, we have an Advocate. Awesome! Get back up and do better next time. Or as Yeshua often said (as He forgave and healed people), “Neither do I condemn you. Go and transgress the Law (sin) no more.” (John 8:11 – see also Romans 8:1)

John, the beloved Disciple and final author of Scripture closed his ministry on this planet as the last of the Apostles with the writing of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John, exhorting us to obey YHWH. Peter closed  out his writings in similar fashion. BOTH did so AFTER the writings of Paul, each making a strong appeal for us to not fall into the “error of lawLESSness,” but rather instead to obey YHWH’s Laws. I would say Paul made the same appeal as he strongly urged those he wrote to not to sin (i.e. transgress the Law). Yet, if you spend time on my Facebook page, you can clearly see that a LOT of “Christians” apparently seem to disagree. So… at this point, as I see it, the antinomians in the crowd only have a couple of options:

1. Re-evaluate whether or not they truly believe the Bible is without contradiction. If they remain firm in the conviction that it is without contradiction, they need to realize and admit that they could be wrong about Paul, and therefore should seek to understand how he is in fact in 100% agreement with everyone else in the Bible and why.

2. If they remain firm in the conviction that Paul is in opposition to what everyone else in the Bible is saying by constantly using his writings to justify continuing in an antinomian (anti-law) mindset, they need to stand firm and prove their conviction by tearing out ALL of the books in their Bible except those written by Paul and call themselves Deluded Paulians instead of Christians as they have found a new savior, with a different gospel.

My advice would be to seriously consider Option 1.

Our Savior obeyed His Father. He taught His disciples to do the same. And John then gets a little more “in our face” with his “Test of Knowing Him” message as he wrote to the EPHESIAN church…

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

He clearly says that all of you antinomians are LIARS and the truth is not in you. Don’t shoot the messanger. I didn’t write it. John did. Take it up with him and the Holy Spirit.

Now, notice John didn’t say, who ever loves is suddenly a keeper of the Law – as if to imply that love is a passive noun and that once you have it all is accomplished. No. Biblically speaking, “love” is an action verb. It is only made known through the “keeping of His word.” In other words, DOING = love not the other way around. Love doesn’t = doing without action (as there is no such thing). Love requires action, not an attitude that Someone else “did it all for us.” Yeshua loved the whole world. OK. Great. So, does that now mean we don’t have to love our spouses, families and friends? Of course not. We still have to show our love to and for them. The same is true in our “walk with God.” His definition of showing love for Him is also self-explanatory:

1 John 5: 1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

Going back to 1 John 2, how did Jesus “walk”? In obedience or in disobedience to His Father? See? It’s not rocket science. If we can CLEARLY see that Yeshua (Jesus) walked in obedience to His Father and that He and His Father are ONE (John 10:30), then we can’t say “We only have to do what Jesus did/said!” as if He said and did something different from what YHWH said/did. Our Father’s house is not divided with Father and Son giving different sets of rules guys. If the Father said it, Yeshua said it. If Yeshua said it, the Father said it. But if you still think John is talking only about the commandments of Jesus, let me break 1 John 5 down a bit more for you…

1 John 5: 1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ {i.e. the Son} is born of God  {i.e. the Father}, and everyone who loves Him who begot {i.e. the Father} also loves him who is begotten of Him {i.e. the Son}. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God {i.e. other people}, when we love God {i.e. the Father}and keep His {i.e. the Father’s}commandments. 3 For this is the love of God {i.e. the Father}, that we keep His {i.e. the Father’s} commandments. And His {i.e. the Father’s} commandments are not burdensome.

John lays it all out for us as “little children” so that there be no confusion among us. So, it literally blows my mind that there are still so many here who can’t get this. To me, it doesn’t get any clearer than 1 John chapters 2 – 5. Either believe it, or take Option 2 above and stop claiming to be a follower of Christ. Start a new “movement” and be a proudly Deluded Paulian adhering to your false understanding of the writings of one of the greatest Torah observant scholars of all time and stop pretending to be brothers and sisters in Christ, because Christ is not of the spirit of rebellion (i.e. the Antichrist – the “man of sin,” which is transgression of the Law).

I am truly grateful for your to the point stance. I was almost to the point of dropping Paul like a bad habit. He has a interesting way of conveying to keep the commandments. I think I’ve got it at least for this week.
