What coming out of Babylon looks like…

Published by Rob Skiba January 11, 2015 at 5:26 PM

As I am going through the 100+ notes I’ve written over the past few years, it is very interesting to see the journey I’ve been on and how others have reacted to it along the way.

When I realized that the gifts of the Spirit are still in effect today and that John 14:12 was true and still applicable to us in the 21st Century, all my Baptist friends thought I had gone to the “dark side” and was turning into a Pentecostal. I did not.

When I realized that the KJV is not “perfect” all the KJV Only folks said I no longer believed the Bible. Not true (and total lunacy).  It’s also rather humorous to watch the KJV Only crowd jump through hoops as they try to justify Herod’s paganism, stating that the KJV’s use of “Easter” (bogusly translated from “pascha” which is elsewhere always translated as “Passover”) in Acts 12:4 is justified, while they simultaneously celebrate that same “holiday” they just acknowledged was totally pagan! SMH. Imagine the irony.

When I realized that both the KJV and a bunch of other Bibles throughout history either originally had or still have more than just 66 books, I was accused of not trusting the Bible we have. Again, total lunacy.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10322433_10153083360767754_3838778682466641812_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=59159eab2454383d19b2f0ce3fc71548&oe=5CB8602D

When I decided to tear out the commercial interruptions in my Bible and just start in Genesis (instead of Matthew) and believe everything written in it until I reach the end of Revelation, choosing to let the Holy Spirit teach me along the way, instead of “theologians” it was said that such an idea is “dangerous” and “unwise.” Considering the source of such claims, I think I’ll stick with the Holy Spirit instead of the vain doctrines of men with expensive pieces of paper hanging on their “I love me walls.” Thanks.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10906444_10153083206527754_866333665679688071_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=0e4f0fc77ad094aba88395144a502eb0&oe=5CE3BDCB

When I realized God’s name is not “God” nor “the LORD” but rather is YHWH, everyone thought I had become a Sacred Namer. I did not.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10402995_10153083235987754_5861193556081094091_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=e2f336f3e70e7b804d9de5fc11b24a80&oe=5CE39A7C

When I realized that my Savior’s given name was Yeshua and that “Jesus” is a word that has only been in existence for less than 400 years, people thought I was both a Sacred Namer and had lost my salvation, since (in their bogus view) there is “none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (implying “Jesus” is that name). Untrue on both counts. Contrary to their absurd line of thinking, rest assured, my salvation is secure and I’m sorry but Luke did not have the name “Jesus” in mind when he quoted Peter as he wrote Acts 4:12. And yes, I do know how we ended up with that name:

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10933781_10153083365907754_8602446299152128567_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=49808ace13e30262e921c7ac9339e23a&oe=5CE424FD

Some thought (and apparently still do) that I was claiming that the name “Jesus” is somehow connected to Zeus. I do not. I recognize how the name came into existence, I just see no justification for it. The same Bible translates “Joshua” all over the place. In my view, they should have stayed consistent with the text and not changed it. And while I now choose to use His given name of Yeshua, I DO still believe there is power in the name of Jesus for forgiveness, healing and deliverance. Anyone who says I believe otherwise is a slanderous, lying idiot. Just calling it as I see it.

When I started keeping the Sabbath, everyone thought I had become a Seventh Day Adventist. I did not.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10917353_10153083332782754_4018246600935639008_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=1842f447062b428ef1b5898399885214&oe=5CF1E32C

When I started studying the Torah, many thought I had become “bewitched” and was thus becoming a “wannabe Jew” and thus (in their view) a heretic. I was not.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10906298_10153083237862754_6705137831540984961_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=b6689d2ddc3fe13818db2dc6ebea7bd9&oe=5CF8A7CC

When I realized that Paul is perhaps the most misunderstood author of Scripture, I began to study what he studied so that I might better understand what he understood when he wrote what he wrote. Now, I absolutely LOVE the guy! But many think he was somehow contradicting everyone else in Scripture, which is a lie. I believe *my* Paul passed the Deuteronomy 13 test with flying colors!

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10920950_10153083239297754_57614411467051485_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=85ce0636cde2a94bcdd6716fe76fbb5d&oe=5CE59E33

When I realized that it’s actually a good idea to “love God” through obedience (as 1 John 5:2,3 says), everyone thought I was becoming a Judaizer, trying to get everyone back “under the law.” I am not. For more clarification, see:

When I realized that X-mess and Ishtar Day have nothing to do with my Savior, and started to write and talk about it, all hell broke loose on Facebook.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10926433_10153083262537754_3840757606527152524_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=7cf5b1d6389b924fd1a800953350c59a&oe=5CEF151F

When I stopped believing in the pre-Trib. Rapture, people thought I lost my salvation (or questioned if I ever was truly saved). FYI: believing in the pre-Trib. Rapture has nothing to do with one’s salvation.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/10933933_10153083697277754_618206031656141039_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=83297400f500d45ed98478b24d1a21cd&oe=5CE6C5CD

Once I ditched the pre-Trib. Rapture view, my Dispensation Theology glasses began to crack and fall apart. At that point, my whole world was rocked as that was the paradigm I had so believed in for 30+ years of my life. The biggest shock of it all though was realizing just how completely antisemitic that doctrine actually is (though nobody in it can see it that way).

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/s720x720/10904558_10153083700702754_4558264469483211684_o.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=df64c51cdf8a2c72f21f05ea05753c43&oe=5CB4F923

Once I realized that there are not two plans of YHWH and two different Brides, I realized that what was said to Israel also applies to me… which then made the whole “Old Testament” come to life in ways I never expected, and thus caused the New Testament to take on new meaning as well.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10906195_10153083325017754_4940173074315737239_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=12b6c903ac723776197fc92b89b02523&oe=5CF983AD

When my research led me to the conclusion that the Feasts of YHWH, His dietary laws and other commandments were ALL for our benefit and that they taught a great deal of important lessons for us concerning our Messiah and what it means to live a holy life, serving a holy God, and living healthy, I was accused of coming under the influence of demons.

When I began to question 1,700 year old doctrines of “the Church” I was accused (yet again) of “heresy” and labeled a “dangerous cult-leader” (which I find rather humorous, because I go to a small house-church and I’m not even the leader of it and I always tell people NOT to believe a thing I say… these are not the traits of a “cult-leader” btw – just sayin’). For an in-depth understanding of this particular “1,700 year old doctrinal issue” and what I do and do not believe, please take the time to watch and read everything I’ve posted here: http://www.quest4truth.net/Archived-Shows/quest4truthepisode14 before believing the psychotic ramblings of slanderous liars, which seem to be popping up all over the Internet these days.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/q84/s720x720/10906092_10153083292217754_8782535830514206968_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=d24f7a998a4a865971bba24d9fe1eb11&oe=5CEB1F88

When I realized that most of what we have been taught concerning the United States, its history and our Founding Fathers was a lie, I was accused of being “unpatriotic.” Not true. I’m just awake now and stopped drinking the Kool-Aid.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10919024_10153083308737754_3336724040519554181_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=4b7641872550491e398653b200623f02&oe=5CF5FBB4

When I realized that most of what we have been taught concerning the establishment of “Israel” in 1948 was really just Zionist propaganda meant to convince us that it was a fulfillment of Isaiah 66:8 and not Zephaniah 2:1,2 I was labeled antisemitic. I am not. I’m just awake and believe what the Scriptures actually teach concerning the true in-gathering of the whole house of Israel as described in great detail in Jeremiah 23, 30, 31, Ezekiel 37, Isaiah 65-66, the whole book of Hosea and throughout the Old Testament prophets. For more on this, see: http://www.quest4truth.net/Archived-Shows/quest4truth-episode-11

When I realized that Paul clearly tells us who we are “in Christ,” I was told I believe in “Replacement Theology” and then was black-listed from all Dispensation Theology membership clubs. By the way, if you are a Dispensationist, you are the one who believes in Replacement Theology, not me:

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10388192_10153083313657754_511700059772284959_n.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=fd2cfaf9964f86ecd4ed73e9c56f9151&oe=5CF651A0

Whenever I post stuff like this, I’m accused of being “divisive” and many would like me to shut up.

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/10347641_10153083234767754_3957878952731993767_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=f1d4f5b7ee7c82c4cab21bfc292fb84a&oe=5CFAF1E2

Well… that’s not likely to happen anytime soon. You are welcome to stay, but I’m stepping out of Babylon and all of its many associated lies as much as I can.

This was fabulous! I really enjoyed this.

Hi Rob, I’ve been on a similar journey except The Lord lead me into the wilderness, for nearly 40 years now, away from the church..so called, ie Babylon.
The ‘issue’ with the law which seems to cause great controversy is in fact quite simple (although of course the ‘flesh’ wants to make it complicated)…the new covenant, Jer 31.. I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts. His words are spirit and they are life…it is not an external issue but an internal and eternal one and only through Yeshua does this become a reality as we come to know His Love and then love and desire to obey\please Him in all things. He is our life, our all in all and we are learning that this is the Truth.
    Love you brother
PS In your chart of the feasts under the headings the Passover and Unleavened Bread it says ‘Jews’….the word Jew does not appear until 2 Kings, it should say Israelites…this is no small matter.

    • RobSkiba2 says:

I hear ya on the “Jews” issue, but I didn’t make that chart. I just posted it from someone else’s work. You are correct, it should say “Israelites”. LOTS of people make this mistake though. Up until 2010, I would have too.
